As a leader in blockchain and cryptocurrency solutions, Ripple has announced the launch of the XRPL Japan and Korea Fund. The aim of this fund is to encourage innovation within the XRP Ledger (XRPL) in the dynamic markets of Korea and Japan.
The XRPL Japan and Korea Fund will support a range of programs, including collaborations with top Korean and Japanese companies to integrate the XRP Ledger and explore business use cases across different industries. Additionally, promising XRP Ledger projects will receive financial, technical, and commercial assistance, and investments will be made in startups utilizing the XRP Ledger to develop innovative applications.
Furthermore, the fund will facilitate regional hackathons, events, and educational initiatives to engage and expand the XRP Ledger communities in the area. This initiative is part of Ripple’s $1 billion commitment to supporting developers working on the XRP Ledger financially, technically, and commercially.
Emi Yoshikawa, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Ripple, emphasized the potential of Korea and Japan to become key centers for blockchain development and reiterated Ripple’s dedication to fostering innovation within the local XRP Ledger community.
Notable projects supported by the XRPL Grants program include VWBL and Moai Finance, based in Japan and Korea respectively. VWBL focuses on using NFTs to authenticate real-world situations, while Moai Finance is creating a cross-chain DEX aggregator and multi-chain DEX to enhance asset liquidity within the XRP Ledger community.
Ripple has formed strategic alliances with HashKey DX and SBI Holdings in Korea and Japan, and will issue official Expo NFTs for the World Expo 2025 in Osaka using the XRP Ledger. The company will also participate in industry events like WebX Asia and Korea Blockchain Week to showcase their commitment to the region.
Despite the current market conditions with XRP trading at $0.4873, down 1.86% in the last 24 hours and 6.44% over the past week, Ripple remains focused on driving innovation and expanding its market presence. With a strong partnership network and ongoing initiatives, Ripple continues to make a significant impact in the Japanese financial sector and beyond.
