IOTA Unveils EVM Mainnet, Advancing Blockchain Capabilities for Integration of Real-World Assets
IOTA has recently launched its EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) Mainnet, as stated in the latest update called “IOTA’s EVM Mainnet Unleashed” released on June 4, 2024. The introduction of new tools and infrastructure upgrades aims to enhance the functionality and adoption of the IOTA EVM. This launch follows the previous unveiling of IOTA’s EVM Leap and its next-generation infrastructure upgrades.
Collin Brown, a well-known member of the crypto community and blockchain expert, has highlighted the announcement of IOTA EVM, a Layer 2 solution that is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. This new solution brings several features, including smart contracts, cross-chain functionality, parallel processing, and improved security against MEV attacks. IOTA EVM will prioritize the integration of real-world assets and has already formed partnerships with various entities.
The IOTA EVM Mainnet is fully compatible with Ethereum’s EVM, enabling seamless deployment of Solidity smart contracts. It incorporates innovative features like parallel transaction processing to enhance scalability and IOTA’s unique Layer 1 Native Asset Framework, which ensures secure and fair transaction processing by preventing front-running and value extraction.
Interoperability and real-world adoption are key goals of IOTA EVM, as it enables smooth interactions between EVM and non-EVM chains. Its commitment to operating within regulatory-friendly environments is exemplified by its official registration as a DLT foundation in the Abu Dhabi Global Market and compliance with the German regulatory framework. This positions IOTA to connect traditional sectors with crypto-native applications, particularly in the realm of Real-World Asset (RWA)-centric DeFi ecosystems.
The launch of IOTA EVM is supported by a robust network of infrastructure providers, including Stargate Finance, LayerZero, Blast API, Pyth Network, Supra, and Goldsky. These partners offer essential services such as liquidity transport, interoperability protocols, reliable node infrastructure, decentralized price and data feeds, and powerful data indexing. This comprehensive support framework ensures that developers and users can utilize IOTA EVM to build and access next-generation decentralized applications.
To commemorate this achievement, IOTA invites the community to join a launch party on Discord and X on June 5.
