INATBA has announced the establishment of the Industrial Blockchain Task Force, which aims to evaluate and discuss blockchain and DLT projects in the tech infrastructure field. IOTA will play a significant role in this task force, which plans to release a status quo report in January 2024, providing an analysis of these projects and their technical foundations to facilitate innovation-driven decision-making and regulatory compliance in Europe.

INATBA’s Industrial Blockchain Task Force, in collaboration with IOTA, is empowering innovation in European tech infrastructure projects. This groundbreaking initiative brings together industry leaders such as Siemens, Accenture, and Fujitsu to assess use cases and explore the potential of blockchain technology.

The objective of the task force is to compile a comprehensive report by January 2024, mapping out these projects and conducting detailed analyses of their technical foundations.

The core mission of the Industrial Blockchain Task Force, in partnership with IOTA, is to drive innovation and empower industrial decision-makers by evaluating the development of resilient industrial products and processes through the integration of blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI). This collaborative effort welcomes participants from various sectors, ensuring a diverse range of expertise.

Ricardo Simoes, Executive Director of INATBA, expressed enthusiasm about the launch of the task force and its potential impact on European tech infrastructure projects. He highlighted the involvement of IOTA Foundation and emphasized the importance of providing insights into the use of blockchain and AI for industrial consortiums and processes. Simoes believes that this initiative represents a significant leap forward in facilitating collaboration within the European Union and showcases the versatility of blockchain technology across various industries, with special attention to IOTA’s contributions.

The key focus areas of the Industrial Blockchain Task Force, including IOTA’s involvement, include evaluating existing use cases, promoting collaboration among different entities, and advocating for standardization of blockchain technology in major sectors.

Members of the task force, including IOTA Foundation, will actively participate in bi-weekly meetings, benefiting from a dynamic cross-industry environment and collaborating with experts from diverse fields. The task force, in partnership with IOTA, will play a crucial role in summarizing the capabilities of blockchain technology, especially in relation to EU policy goals and initiatives.

As utility tokens move towards regulatory compliance with MiCA in 2024, the Industrial Blockchain Task Force, with IOTA’s contributions, will contribute to discussions on innovation and technology integration for initiatives such as Digital Product Passports, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and ESG reporting requirements.

The members steering this transformative initiative, including IOTA Foundation, consist of Accenture, Attest Machine Data, Aviate Labs, Bird & Bird, Blockchain Bundesverband, erable⁰, European Commission, Fujitsu, Green Climate DAO, Guardtime, Imani Partners, Instituto New Economy, IOTA Foundation, iPoint-systems, Kunfud, MHP – A Porsche Company, SettleMint, Siemens, Sphereon, thebrainbehind, Tokeny, Trakti, VeChain, and 51Nodes.

For those interested in contributing to this transformative initiative and shaping the future of technology integration in Europe, particularly with IOTA’s expertise, now is the time to get involved with the Industrial Blockchain Task Force.
