Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, has unveiled the WHY Combinator, a decentralized program designed to support meme coin initiatives. The goal is to enhance the implementation of Shiba Inu technologies and elevate the importance of the BONE token within the network, as reported by CNF.
Shiba Inu envisions a decentralized future, and Kusama explained the program’s objectives and the latest technological advancements in a blog post on January 11. The program aims to provide additional incentives and support for developers working on Shibarium, which is the Layer-2 solution for the Shiba Inu network. Over thirty technologies, categorized under the 36 Chambers of Tech, have been developed to facilitate this growth. These technologies include artificial intelligence, Web3 gaming, and decentralized identity solutions.
The WHY Combinator will leverage Shiba Inu’s blockchain infrastructure to expedite its progress. Kusama emphasized the objective of establishing “Powered by Shib” as a widely recognized brand, similar to other major technology platforms. The program will offer assistance to developers utilizing Shibarium to create innovative applications.
A vital component of this initiative is the TREAT token, which stands for Transactional Rewards for Engagement & Access Token. This token will serve as the primary settlement currency for WHY Combinator projects. Previously, we explored the initiative to feature weekly TreatDrops to encourage participation and reward user engagement with the ecosystem.
These incentives aim to stimulate user activity in areas such as the Shiba Inu Metaverse and NFT collections, including Shiboshis and SHEboshis. The strategy is designed to attract new participants and incentivize the development of additional projects within the ecosystem.
Shiba Inu developers are also focusing on expanding the functionality of BONE, which currently functions as the gas token for Shibarium. One proposed development involves enabling Layer-3 (L3) solutions and positioning Shibarium as a settlement and data availability layer. Similar to networks like Arbitrum and Optimism, these roll-ups would enable more efficient blockchain transactions and greater scalability, as reported by CNF.
An important aspect of this plan is the potential integration of Chainlink’s cross-chain capabilities. If successful, it would transform Shibarium into a connected blockchain application ecosystem, enhancing its functionality and attracting development talent.
Nevertheless, Kusama maintains an optimistic outlook on the ecosystem’s growth, a sentiment he has expressed for some time. He reminded his team that innovation is key at Shiba Inu in order to establish a robust blockchain layer capable of supporting practical offerings.
The creation of the WHY Combinator is an expansion plan that will position Shiba Inu as a formidable player in the blockchain industry.
